Built In Quality

The boat is constructed using the finest Lloyds and DNV certified resins.

  • The gelcoat is from Ashland (USA) with "MaxGuard" UV protection.
  • The outer layer of every ArrowCats hull and deck is constructed using vinylester resin.
  • Below the waterline, the hulls are solid (monolithic) fiberglass for extreme durability and ease of maintenance.
  • Above water, the hull sides, tunnel, transom, deck, cabin top, and bulkheads are comprised of Airex foam core (Switzerland) using various densities for a very stiff, no-rot, and weight efficient structure.
  • Ultra strength, High-density foam is used for impact areas in the tunnel-no balsa wood is used in the construction of the boat.

The boat is engineered to the highest standards by High Modulus New Zealand.

The engineering specification is a working speed of 50 knots, 2.5 G force, 500 hp max- day in day out.

This is far beyond the conditions the typical boater will ever experience and provides a huge safety margin for peak performance and safety in rough water. Although you may not need it, it is nice to know your boat is built to take more abuse than its passengers can tolerate.

The ArrowCat laminates are hand-laid, using extensive unidirectional and bi-directional reinforcement fabrics. Fiberglass mat is used for cosmetic and bonding purposes, while the ArrowCats world class structure relies on the performance of continuous strand fiberglass mats (both uni-directional and bi-directional) for both strength and exact thickness' (which equals optimum stiffness without extra weight) meaning we have a stronger (strength/weight ratio) and more resilient (lower resin ration=less brittle) laminate product.

Our hand layup method allows the reinforcement to be placed exactly where needed and for the panel thickness' to vary according to engineering specs. To insure exact thickness' no chopper gun is used whatsoever.

All joins (including non-structural partitions) are covered and hand taped (fiberglassed) to the hull and deck.

The hull/deck join itself is first bonded using Plexus adhesive-a super strong two-part methylmethacrylate adhesive-and then completely fiberglassed from the inside to make a completely monolithic watertight structure that is not dependant on metal fasteners.

Wood is not used for structure in the hull, deck, bulkheads, stringers or transom. The boat will not rot, nor can it absorb water.

In addition to using the finest building materials, we also use the finest components from world-recognized, OEM suppliers selected for their quality and industry leading warranty standards.

For example,

  • Our fuel tanks are made by Coastline Equipment in Bellingham, WA and are certified by the USGC, and are fire and pressure tested.
  • Our wire harness, built By Almo in Philadelphia,PA is USCG & UL rated, 100% tinned, insulated and rated to 105 degrees C.
  • Our fresh water tanks are made in Idaho (John Guest, USA) and our plumbing system is US FDA certified.
  • Interior lighting fixtures by Frilight (Germany).
  • Electrical panels and components are from BEP (New Zealand).
  • Cockpit hinges are from Niro Pederson (Germany).
  • Latches, scuppers, and drains are from Southco (Philadelphia),
  • Navigation lights, bilge pumps, gas struts by Attwood (USA),
  • Refer by Norcold (USA),
  • Windshield wiper system (yacht grade) by Roca (Italy),
  • Hatches and windlass from Lewmar/Maxwell,
  • Dual Hydraulic steering from Teleflex.
  • All deck hardware is 316 SS.

4 Large conduits are run along the tunnel's length for wire and plumbing services and ease of rigging. Access to tanks and sytems is engineered for easy and simple maintenance.

Safety has been designed into the entire boat.

This design is referred to as a "two hole" boat. The ArrowCat 30 hull is designed to return to port on its own power, even in the unlikely event of two punctures below the waterline. There are 12 watertight compartments throughout the boat. Each hull has 3 watertight transverse bulkheads. Additionally, the sole of the cockpit and berths is watertight, forming a "double hull".

Voids are foam filled to avoid unwanted condensation.

"The ArrowCat 30 is a dry boat that keeps its bow up, recovers quickly from a roll, tracks straight, and handles waves magnificently".
